This year summer vacation, I read the American well-known writer Hemingway's novel " old person and sea ". I extremely admire in the novel the senior fisherman's will, he let me understand one person certainly must have relentless spirit, only then could obtain successfully.

The novel description is one year near sixty years of age senior fisherman, when alone goes to sea in one fishing, fished one big fish, actually did not pull. The senior fisherman socialized several days after the fish, only then discovered this was the big marlin which one surpassed the oneself fishing boat several fold, although knew perfectly well very difficult to win, but still did not give up. I extremely admire old person that kind do not dread, the relentless spirit, although knows the match strength is very strong, but he not slightly flinches, but is welcomes difficultly above. Just because had this kind of spirit, the senior fisherman only then achieved this life and death contest success. We also must study senior fisherman's spirit in life, handles the matter does not fear the difficulty, only then can obtain successfully.

The Old Man and the Sea is one of Hemingway's most enduring works and may very well become one of the true classics of this generation. It played a GREat part in his winning the Pulizer Prize in 1953 and the 1954 Novel Prize for Literature and confirmed his power and presence in the literary world. Hemingway is also one of my favorite writers. Besides The Old Man And the Sea, I have read some of his other works, such as The Sun Also Rises, A Farewell to Arms and The Snow of Kilimanijaro. But The Old Man and the Sea is the one that left the deepest impression on me.

I first read this book when I was in my fifteen. And now I remember it just as well as if I had read it yesterday.

Pride and Prejudice is a chefdoeuvre.My first impression of this story was from screen.

It's long long ago, maybe before I can read english books. I don't remember which movie edition I had seen. But I was impressed by the music, the scenery and the costume. I was very favor of a section of music in its balls. It's pretty brisk, liked a wonderful song of a bird. (www.mrnum.Com)Regarding to the characters, I liked Elizabeth, the  *** e,though I didn't think she's beautiful. But she's  *** art. However, I didn't pay much attention to the plot. I thought it's so long that it made me impatient and bored. By now, I haven't read the whole story in English or its Chinese version, either. I owe it to my prejudice.

In fact, I didn't understand the story at that time. I didn't know why it called Pride and Prejudice. Of course someone was pride, but I didn't find where' s the prejudice. I thought it's normal, the way people treated each other in that. I considered prejudice would be very disgusting. But to the movie everthing was OK in my minds, except its length. Now, I think I have understood more about it. I'm a prejudiced person so I can't find where's wrong. I merely like to do the things I like. Everytime I meet somebody or something,my thinking about he or it all depends on my foregone experience and my mood of the time.

《THE OLD MAN AND THE SEA》is a novel written by Ernest Hemingway, a very famous America novelist. It's based on a true story. It tells an old fisherman's experience about hunting a huge fish and survived from the sharks. This novel is really excellent .And it's also the last masterpiece of the ingenious novelist, Hemingway, after this novel, he killed himself.

The hero of this novel survived by hunting fish all his life time. But because the bad luck, as long as eighty-four days he got nothing. All the people laughed at him. They think he was too old , and should go home. In order to prove himself he decided to go the further distance for big fish. On his way, though he had met lots of dangerous and problems, he didn't give up. At last, he got the big fish. But his boat was too  *** all to contain such a big fish. He had to put the fish out side of his boat. Because the blood of this fish, on his way go back , he was attacked by the sharks. On the battle with the sharks, he used all the tools as the weapons. When he reached the harbor, the fish, what had left, was only the bones.

I really like this novel ,it teach me a lot .I think it's a song for heroi ***  .I lean that not only the solders or any others can become a hero ,but the ordinary people, no matter the old and the young ,the man and the woman, can become the hero ,too. The word in the novel "But people not live for failure, a man can be killed, but never be conquered" is very famous. And it left an impression to me. An old man, in some people's viewpoint, is really pool. Maybe he should just stay at home. But how can he overcome all the troubles, especially in that circumstances? I think it's because his spirit , the spirit of confidence ambition and never give up. A man's power or age would be restricted, but the spirit is freedom.

In our lives, we will also meet different kinds of problems. Maybe sometimes the problems seems undefeated. What should we do, to face like a hero or to escape as a craven? The hero in this novel make a good example to us. The trouble maybe really cannot be solved. Maybe we must fail. But we couldn't stop just because threat. We should be a hero of ourselves, in spirit. Everyone should learn from the old man, keep lively no matter how old we are, just as the lion ,the old man dream of, walk along the beach.

Facing the problem and never give up, do as the Hemingway said :"A man can be killed ,but never be conquered".

其实我看了书也是这样的感觉，完全没有什么读后感。

后来我查网上的资料才知道：

1.海明威的描写手法。

阅读发挥思维联动，信息太少，极简主义风格。

最后，筛子停止转动，是小，他输了一百万！

类似的修辞手法。

海明威就不会带有任何情绪的描写这个笑，直接就写，他笑了。

但是我们都有丢过钱、突发横财的感觉，所以他笑了。

我们就会联想懂啊当时的情景，知道这个笑肯定不是正面的情绪表达，所以主角这时候肯定不是开心的状态。

在书中的内容几乎没有 *** ，运用极简的书写手法向你娓娓道来，老人也几乎没有表达情绪，就是不断的自言自语，不断的胡思乱想。

2.海明威的自杀

既然书中想要表达的是老人坚韧的精神，但是在1961年7月2日，海明威用自己的 *** 结束了自己的生命。

怎么就硬汉的

首先，自杀在一定程度上并不是完全都是逃避生活。

比如：如果自杀能避免泄露国家机密的话，这样的自杀是有意义的，并不是逃避生活。

我们再来说说海明威

1.身体的折磨。

家族遗传的抑郁症。参加第一次世界大战手上，从腿上就取出弹片237块。电击治疗同时毁坏记忆力，秃头、视力不好，FBI的监控，弄破右瞳孔，高血压...

2.精神的折磨。

电击治疗损害他的思想，所以他完全没法在纸上写文章。

身体的痛苦都可以忍受，但是写不出来文章让他不能接受。

there is a side tale as well. this great individual, the man who stands alone, is not alone completely by choice. he has developed a friendship, a working relationship, a love with a young boy who began fishing with him when the boy was only five. now the boy has moved on to another boat, a more successful one, at his parents?behest, but he pines to work with santiago, and when the battle with the great fish has been engaged, santiago pleads over and over and over wish the boy were here.?
